New Films! New Location! New Award!

From the 28 th of March to the 1 st of April 2007 the Cineasia Filmfestival takes place for the sixth time. In about 20 screenings we will present new Asian cinema from Singapore, Malaysia, the Republic of Korea, HongKong and of course Japan!

The festival has moved to a new location: the Filmforum NRW, the cinema of the Museum Ludwig - right next to the Cologne cathedral.

One highlight of this years festival will be the screening of the exceptional animes "Paprika" by Satoshi Kon and "Tekkon Kinkreet" - the latest Studio 4 C production.

We are looking forward to the European premiere of "Memories of Tomorrow" by Yukihiko Tsutsumi. This powerful drama is produced Ken Watanabe who also plays the leading role.

Find out for yourself which amazing episode of "Ten Nights of Dreams" you will like best - directed by 10 famous Japanese filmmakers like Kon Ichikawa, Takashi Shimizu or Yoshitaka Amano this will not be an easy task.

"Love for Share" a comedy about polygamy by the Indonesian director Nia Dinata has won the best feature film award at last years Hawaii film festival and will be screened for the first time in Germany.

With "Gubra" we are happy to show the stunning sequel to Yasmin Ahmad's "Sepet", a film much loved by our audience in 2005.

"Becoming Royston" an independent production from Singapore is a tribute to the countries most successful director Royston Tan. The screening will be accompanied by Tan's latest short film "D.I.Y."

For the first time Cineasia will hold a competition for the best new Asian film. The Cineasia Award will be determined by an audience vote and endowed with 1.000 Euro, sponsored by CHOICES.
